Yoga right in the middle of Manhattan, and completely free? In Bryant Park, that is exactly what you get. During the summer, the small green park turns into one of the best places for free outdoor events in the city.
What to expect
Between skyscrapers, street noise, and the buzz of Midtown, Bryant Park gives you a small pocket of calm - and the perfect setting for a free outdoor yoga session.
During the warmer months, free classes take place here twice a week. They run from late May through mid-September, making them a lovely way to start a summer day or unwind after work.
These are the 2026 class times:
- Tuesdays at 10:00 AM on the Terrace
- Wednesdays at 6:00 PM on the Lawn
Each class lasts about 60 minutes and is open to everyone, whether you are a complete beginner or already practice regularly.
Good to know
- Register online in advance: The classes are very popular, so it is best to reserve your spot ahead of time. If you do not have a reservation, I recommend arriving very early to try to get a place. Check-in starts at 9:00 AM on Tuesdays and 5:15 PM on Wednesdays.
- Bring water and a yoga mat: Bryant Park does not provide yoga mats, so you need to bring your own. If you need to buy one in New York, Target on 34th Street is one easy option.
- Keep an eye on the weather: Classes are canceled in bad weather. Updates are shared on Bryant Park Instagram at @bryantparknyc. If you registered online, you should also receive updates by email.
