During the holidays, little trains travel through a miniature New York inside Grand Central Terminal. The New York Transit Museum’s Holiday Train Show is free to visit.
What to expect
The model trains travel from a miniature Grand Central Terminal to a snowy North Pole, passing familiar New York landmarks along the way. Metro-North trains, vintage subway sets and the Polar Express run around a 34-foot layout spread across two levels.
Take a closer look at the little buildings along the tracks, too. The display brings familiar New York places into a miniature winter landscape.
