Ever wanted to step inside an old New York City bus? At the New York Transit Museum’s Bus Festival, you can explore the vehicles inside and meet the people who keep the city’s buses running.
What to expect
Buses from different decades line up at Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Step aboard to compare the seats, windows, and interiors. The vehicles stay parked throughout the event - this isn’t a bus ride.
There are activities for different ages too. The vehicle lineup can change, with the Manhattan skyline providing the backdrop for the display.
Good to know
- Entry is free. Advance registration is optional.
- The festival goes ahead in the rain.
- Vintage buses have steps, and there may be lines to board. Visitors aren’t allowed to sit in the driver’s seat.
