Hot chocolate, Christmas songs, and a visit from Santa, all aboard a double-decker bus: the North Pole Express brings a little holiday magic to a ride through Midtown Manhattan.
What to expect
This trip takes you to the “North Pole” right in the middle of Manhattan. You board a decorated TopView double-decker bus, meet the Express conductor, sing Christmas carols, and spend time with Santa. You can even write him a letter and tell him your Christmas wishes in person.
From the upper deck, you get views of Midtown and its holiday decorations. TopView lists Radio City Music Hall, the giant red ornaments, and the lights at Cartier among the highlights. What you actually see depends on the route and which decorations are already up when you visit. Early in the season, some displays may not yet be illuminated.
The Standard Experience lasts around 45 minutes and includes hot chocolate, sweet treats, a hat, a blanket, and a little sleigh bell from Santa. An upper-deck seat is included, and all entertainment takes place aboard the bus. Children under two can ride free on the lap of a guardian aged 16 or older; they need a child ticket if you want them to have their own seat.
Good to know
- Christmas pajamas are welcome, so feel free to dress for the occasion. Bring warm layers for the ride, too.
