Spend the night at the American Museum of Natural History: children ages 6–12 and their adult chaperones can explore after closing and sleep among the exhibits.
What to expect
After daytime visitors leave, explore the halls by flashlight, including the dinosaur exhibits. Trivia, scavenger hunts, and group games in the Gilder Center fill the evening.
Then settle down among the exhibits, with sleeping areas including the hall beneath the blue whale. This is a full overnight stay, right through to the following morning.
Good to know
- The November 20 event is sold out.
- Chaperones must be 21+: one per child ages 6–7, or one per five children ages 8–12. Adults may attend only as chaperones.
- Cots and sleeping locations are assigned. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and toiletries.
- Evening snack and light breakfast included; dinner costs extra. Complete registration forms at least two weeks beforehand.
