Take an evening walk past glowing animal lanterns and through light tunnels at the Bronx Zoo. Holiday Lights also gives you a chance to visit selected animal exhibits after dark.
What to expect
Six themed lantern trails take you through different regions and habitats. Along the way, you’ll find a holiday tree with lights synchronized to music and interactive installations for kids to explore.
There are real animals to see, too. World of Darkness, World of Reptiles, and the Children’s Zoo Farmyard are part of the evening experience. Your Holiday Lights ticket also includes afternoon admission, so you can arrive early to see more of the zoo before the lights come on.
Good to know
- Book a separate Holiday Lights ticket online in advance. Regular daytime admission does not include the event.
- Allow around two to three hours for the lights and dress warmly. Most of the walk is outdoors.
- Enter through Southern Boulevard Gate or Bronx River Gate. Asia Gate and Fordham Road Gate are closed for Holiday Lights.
- Food, drinks, and the children’s Holiday Train cost extra. Lower-priced Deal Days are December 3, 10, and 17.
