Planning a Halloween outing with kids? Boo at the Zoo adds costumes, pumpkins, and a candy trail to a day at the Bronx Zoo.
What to expect
This daytime celebration has plenty for younger children to join in with, from a costume parade and dance party to wildlife puppet theater.
There’s also a hay-bale course for climbing and balancing, carnival games, and Animal Chats with zoo experts. You can mix the Halloween activities with visits to the animals throughout the day.
Boo at the Zoo is included with zoo admission. The zoo lists regular admission from $37.70 for adults ages 13+, $32.70 for seniors ages 65+, and $27.70 for children ages 3–12. Children under 3 enter free. Prices vary by visit date, so check the booking calendar for your chosen Boo date.
Good to know
- Candy Trail treats are for children only, while supplies last. Each family can visit the trail once.
- Activities are mainly outdoors, and some depend on the weather.
- Visitors age 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 18 or older.
- Most Halloween activities run 11 AM–4 PM; the Candy Trail runs 11 AM–2 PM. Some activities start earlier. Zoo hours are longer: 10 AM–5:30 PM on event days through October, and 10 AM–4:30 PM on November 1.
