Carols, cocoa, seasonal activities, and a flotilla of illuminated trees bring holiday cheer to the Harlem Meer in Central Park.
What to expect
This neighborhood holiday celebration takes place at the Charles A. Dana Discovery Center on the north side of Central Park. Families gather for carols, seasonal activities, Santa, and warm drinks before the lights come on.
The highlight is the flotilla of sparkling trees on the Harlem Meer. It is a smaller, more local alternative to Midtown’s major tree lightings and a lovely reason to explore the Park’s north end.
Good to know
- The Dana Discovery Center is at the north end of the Park near the 110th Street entrances.
- Dress warmly and arrive before the lighting once the official time is announced.
- Check the Central Park Conservancy calendar shortly before your visit for weather updates and final details.
