What to expect
For one weekend each fall, Open House New York lets you explore buildings and spaces across all five boroughs, including places you wouldn’t normally get to visit. It’s not just about famous architecture: workshops and infrastructure facilities are part of the program, too. You get to see a little more of how the city works, beyond its familiar sights.
You can put together your own route from the participating locations. Some offer tours, while others let you drop in during their visiting hours. For 2026, the preview includes the Rockefeller Center Gardens, Brooklyn Army Terminal, and the DOT Sign Shop in Queens. The full lineup changes each year, so it’s worth looking beyond the names you already know.

- The full 2026 lineup is released on September 25. Tickets become available on October 2 at noon New York time via Eventbrite, first come, first served.
- Drop-In locations are free and don’t require tickets. Most ticketed visits cost $7; some are free. You don’t need an OHNY membership.
- Family-friendly options are available, but age restrictions and accessibility vary by location. For ticketed visits, children also need a ticket.
