A nighttime walk through the Forbidden Forest - with a chance to try a little magic yourself!
What to expect
Here, the woods become part of the Harry Potter world. Along the illuminated trail, you encounter creatures such as Hippogriffs and Nifflers. And you don’t just watch: at interactive stops, you can cast spells and try conjuring a Patronus.
This isn’t in Manhattan, though. The experience takes place at FDR State Park in Westchester, so plan it as an evening trip outside the city. Allow around 60–90 minutes for the visit.
Good to know
- Wear warm layers and sturdy shoes: the woodland paths can be uneven. Some scenes may frighten younger children.
- Without a car: take Metro-North from Grand Central to Peekskill or Croton-Harmon, then a taxi/rideshare. Arrange your return trip, too.
- Driving? Use the Taconic State Parkway entrance, not the Crompond Road entrance. Parking costs $15 online in advance or $20 onsite.
- Prices vary by date and time. Children under 3 enter free. Arrive 15 minutes before your time slot.
