Think there’s no good food around Times Square? Taste of Times Square lets you make up your own mind. At this annual food festival, you can try small dishes from neighborhood restaurants without committing to just one.
What to expect
Restaurants serve their dishes at outdoor stalls, so you can wander from one to the next and build your own meal: tacos first, then pasta, and cheesecake to finish. The small portions make it easy to try a few different cuisines.
The festival stretches along 46th Street between Seventh and Ninth Avenues, including Restaurant Row, and across the Broadway plazas between 45th and 47th Streets. It isn’t limited to the area around the red steps.
To pay, pick up a wristband and link it to your credit or debit card. You then use it to buy individual tastes at the stalls. Many portions cost $5, with some at $10.
There’s live music and Broadway entertainment too, so you can stop and listen between food stops. The restaurants and shows taking part change from year to year.
Good to know
- Tastes are paid for individually. This isn’t an all-you-can-eat event.
- Advance offers have included a 20% discount, so it’s worth checking the ticket options before you go.
