What to expect
New York City is planning a new veterans event called the “Remembrance Ruck” on September 13. The event will bring together veteran groups to honor veterans and those who died on September 11, 2001.
Participants will walk with weighted backpacks or vests from Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn across the Brooklyn Bridge to Foley Square in Manhattan, carrying the names of fallen soldiers. The event will end with a resource fair offering veterans information on housing, mental health services, and other city support programs.
